Meet the Artist

Hi! My name is Ashlea Kiiing. I am the owner and creator at Kiiing Creations. I have been pursuing art since the age of three. As a child, I was that kid that always wanted to be signed up for every art class! I really enjoyed the process of exploring different art mediums and learning about what each medium offered. My absolute favorite thing about art is that it provides an outlet for me to express myself without any boundaries.

After graduating high school, I was not sure what I wanted to do as a career; but I loved creating and wanted to make a difference in my community. I ended up majoring in Art Education and graduated from the University of North Texas with a BFA in Visual Arts. I became an art teacher and taught middle school art for four years. In 2017, my husband and I got pregnant with our daughter. I decided I wanted to take a break from teaching and focus on being a mommy while also continuing to work part time and create/sell my own creations!

In 2018, I took a leap of faith and started my own art business, called Kiiing Creations. Kiiing Creations offers a unique collection of mixed media art on various products and I use a wide variety of media to create each piece. When I was growing up, I did not see a lot of art that looked like me and reflected my culture. As a mom, I want my daughter to be able to see herself through my art and be proud of the community she comes from so culture, as well as, nature are definitely my two biggest inspirations.

Starting my own business has definitely been my most challenging endeavor; but it has also been one of the most rewarding experiences. It is amazing to be able to share my passion with others and create pieces that people can connect with through their own life experiences. I look forward to seeing what plans God has in store for my little business and I am excited to share my passion with you!
